Emily DiDonato Born in 1991 in New York, Emily DiDonato is an American model who grew up in a small town in Orange County, New York. Her parents were of Italian and Irish decent, giving her a unique look. She wasn’t interested in modelling at first, but a family friend convinced her to look into it as a career, and in 2008, she signed with Request Model Management. Although she is rather new to the modelling industry, she has already grabbed several major contracts and has done a surprising amount of high profile work in her one year of work. DiDonato is expected to continue to gain fame as a model and may become one of the biggest names in the industry in the years to come.DiDonato has done very little work on the runway. However, this is not that unusual considering that she only recently started her modelling career. According to some rumours, she is slated to make her runway debut in 2010 in the spring/summer Rag & Bone show.
While she hasn’t appeared on the runway, DiDonato had done a surprising amount of print work for someone with only a year of experience. She appeared in a Glamour editorial in October of 2008, and in 2009, she became the face of Guess. This was quite an impressive feat for someone so young and so new to the industry. She has also modelled for the Ralph Lauren Rugby spring 2009 ad campaign and for the Kensie spring ad campaign. During 2009, she had appearances in Glamour several times (in April, May, and July) and in Italian Vanity Fair. In May, she signed with Maybelline to promote their cosmetics. This led to DiDonato’s first television commercial when she appeared in a spot for their Colour Sensation Lip Colour line. In August, she was featured in the Victoria’s Secret Angel campaign. She is slated to appear in the 2010 Maybelline calendar as well. In August, Models.com named DiDonato as one of their rising stars, a title she clearly deserves. Vogue Germany has also named her a top newcomer. DiDonato recently moved into her first apartment in New York. When she’s not modelling, she enjoys reading, travelling, and spending time with her friends.
